Description of the WEU
Learning a new foreign language: GERMAN
This course is aimed at beginners. The training of the four language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, writing) as well as grammar exercises (present tense verbs, nouns and articles, adjectives, sentence construction) allow learners to communicate in German from the very first sessions. At the end of the course, learners should be able to introduce themselves, hold a simple dialogue (e.g. getting to know each other, introducing themselves, asking questions) and understand everyday language statements. It will therefore be a question of laying the foundations of the morphology and syntax of the German language. Systematic work on learning vocabulary will also be offered. The course prepares for level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, an objective to be achieved at the end of level 2 for students wishing to continue in semester 2. The objective of this course is also to familiarize students with socio-cultural notions and current events in German-speaking countries using audio-visual documents, particularly music.
