A word from the artist:

What additives, what paradise around us! And on a daily basis, we must combine with the maximum dose of images, products transformed through an incredible fauna which envelops us: avatars, mascots, characters, creatures, toys, constitute liters of figures ingested. Animal muses carry a need for entertainment, a break from boredom, an addiction to fun. What does this appetite, this compulsion, this sometimes formatted imagination say about us? The “Untitled Album” exhibition could come out of a children’s illustration book, leaping up a page; simply each character dares the space of the canvas, the gaze lost in a distant thought or lost in an interior reflection, and transforms what could have been words into a quantity of sensitive vibrations.

This hybrid ensemble reveals a parallel world, a brazen corpus which brings together more or less conscious projections of phantasmagorical beings using ambiguity. Some species are identifiable, others more indefinable, and the artist unleashes his grain of madness: these funny paintings are receptors, emotional catalysts. You may have noticed: the rooster sporting phallic mammary papayas, the calf displaying a beef heart fused with its teats, the frog and its ambiguous fruit costume, special, right? Sometimes borrowing disrupted codes, some creatures take on scraps of debates, fragments of society, others squarely take on the fantasy of surreality which would have difficulty justifying each painted millimeter. And besides, the projected video takes you for three minutes of hallucinatory plasticity into the realm of the strange.

But deep down, what are we through our eyes? Consumers of the visual, spectators, stunned observers, users who have stored up so much information, objects, conditioned dreams, viral madness since childhood? Scrutinizing rodents and amphibians, perplexed mammals, felines and sea birds, errors of nature and grotesque creations, the eye recognizes a few fragments: membranes, suction cups, fibers, tentacles, cells... These are universes in themselves, cosmic nurseries , perhaps mirrors on the border of dreams sending us back to ourselves, because the human being, who seems absent here, is never very far away.

Artist biography:
Born in Reunion Island in 1977 and living there for her first 8 years, Elsa Moscato, passionate about the arts, studied mainly in the Paris region and in the capital, at the Paris VIII University in plastic arts, then at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs / ENSAD of Paris, in furniture design. Back on her native island since 2000, the image profession seduced her through various creative positions & artistic directors in advertising agencies. His sensitivity and experience combining the two-dimensional aspect and space give him a protean profile. She brings her experience through various educational interventions including for example the ILOI / Indian Ocean Image Institute, or in the STD2A applied arts section, and DNMADE Graphics.
Elsa Moscato maintains a pictorial production displaying an attraction to a transposed organic world, through more and more exhibitions, some of which involve videos. Long live delusions in the visual arts! At the same time, she likes to join living art, with associative participation in the Grand Boucan carnival (Vice President, graphic communication, collective artistic creation).
