International students outside exchange programs

For a first registration in a French university in the first year of a Bachelor's degree, in PASS or BUT :

  • Students who have passed their baccalaureate in a French high school are subject to the “ Parcoursup ". The same applies to students from an establishment in the European Union or the European Economic Area.
  • Foreign students (excluding European Union or European Economic Area nationals) holding a foreign secondary school diploma are required to undergo a prior admission procedure to a French university (DAP procedure). This procedure also concerns foreign students leaving a first year in a preparatory class, a Section of Higher Technicians (BTS).

How and where to obtain the preliminary admission file?  :

  • In countries where there is a Campus France space, the CEF (Centre for Studies in France) procedure is mandatory, the student must make their Preliminary Admission Request (DAP) via the CEF website at the following address : www.“nompays”.campusfrance.org, for example : www.madagascar.campusfrance.org.

  • In countries where there is no CEF procedure, the student must obtain the Prior Admission Request file (DAP – White File) from the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service (SCAC) of the country of residence. It is also available on this Grand Site website.
  • If you already reside in France (in Reunion Island for example), you must collect the Preliminary Admission Request file (DAP – Green File) from the University's Education Service or on this Grand Site website.

When ?

From October 1, 2022 to December 15, 2022 (obligatory dates)
Language test : An exam adapted to the planned training checks the level of understanding of the French language. It is organized either by the SCAC or by the FEI, except: nationals of states where French is an official language. When French is not the only official language, it will be necessary to confirm that the secondary studies took place, in their entirety, in a French-speaking establishment; holders of the DALF (advanced French language diploma) or the new DALF C1 and/or C2 diplomas; candidates who have successfully completed the French assessment test (TEF), organized by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and obtained at least 14/20 in the written expression test.

For a first registration in the 2nd, 3rd year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree

  • If your country of residence has a Campus France Space, you must make your pre-registration request before the 15 December 2022 on the following website: www.“nompays”.campusfrance.org (example: www.madagascar.campusfrance.org). Otherwise, you must complete the Validation of Studies (VE) or Validation of Personal and Professional Acquired (VAPP) file on the University of La Réunion website: from March of each year.

Non-EU foreign students will pay the same registration fees as national students.
