Training summary

The Bachelor of Mathematics is aimed at high school graduates who have followed the mathematics specialty in first and final year.
The objective of this License is to provide a solid general education in mathematics, as well as basics in computer science. In particular, it must provide access to any Master's degree in pure or applied mathematics.
The organization of teaching allows students enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in mathematics to follow a double Bachelor's course in mathematics/computer science or mathematics/physics, or to follow University Diplomas (DU) in computer science or economics from first year.
In addition, units to raise awareness of teaching professions are offered from the second year as part of a system common to the Bachelor's degrees at the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Training aims

The Bachelor's degree in mathematics is designed with the aim of continuing studies in a Master's degree in mathematics, with a view to preparing for external mathematics aggregation and/or continuing with doctoral studies. At the end of the Bachelor's degree, you can also continue with a Master's degree in teaching in order to prepare for the Certificate of Aptitude for Professorship of Secondary Education (CAPES) in mathematics. Furthermore, the License offers the possibility of joining engineering schools, actuarial science, etc., on application or by competitive examination. It also allows administrative competitions to be presented.
Ultimately, the License opens up careers in teaching and research, or in the banking sector, insurance, and high-tech industries.

Advantages of the training

This is a general Bachelor's degree in mathematics, which allows in particular to pursue a Master's degree in “fundamental” mathematics or a Master's degree in teaching.
