Training summary

This course is aimed at students wishing to train as history and geography teachers. It allows them to follow a set of diversified courses enabling them to acquire and develop professional skills and to prepare for external civil service recruitment competitions: Certificate of Aptitude for Secondary Education Teaching (CAPES). ) in history-geography or Certificate of Aptitude for Professional High School Professorship (CAPLP) in literature-history and to learn about and through research in the field of training in history-geography.

The training is based on an integrative logic linking courses and teaching content. Disciplinary and didactic learning are combined so that students can move from distanced reflection to professional practice.

The history-geography course offers, like all MEEF courses, a common core allowing students to access a shared culture, specific to the professions of teaching, education and training in the Reunion context.

 

Training aims

The MEEF History-Geography Master is a professional Master's degree aimed at students aiming for teaching professions and who wish to present the CAPES in history-geography.

The training provided as part of the MEEF Master has a triple objective:

  • Provide future teachers with solid training in the field of history and geography

  •  Support students in preparing for the CAPES exams

  •  Allow a first contact with practice and prepare students for the exercise of their profession
