Training summary
The MIASHS License is part of the two areas/fields of training “cultures, territories and plural societies in the Indian Ocean” and “sciences, technologies and health in the tropical environment”. It is aimed at high school students with a scientific baccalaureate who have chosen the mathematics option. It provides solid basic training in the fields of economics, mathematics and computer science. Students can then continue their studies in economics, pure or applied mathematics, finance, etc.
Success in this training requires:
• An excellent level in quantitative techniques, particularly in mathematics
• A great capacity for abstraction and a taste for theoretical reasoning
• Strong motivation and good work capacity.

Training aims
This License provides an opening to quantitative techniques and/or any teaching using formalization. It therefore allows students to tackle both mathematics and economics and/or finance studies. It allows students to acquire essential tools for continuing their studies in economics at Masters and Doctorate level.
Advantages of the training
- Multidisciplinary and transversal training in economics-management and science and technology.
- The training offer includes several courses to prepare standardized certifications to assess the level in IT and English (notably the PIX in IT and the TOEIC in English).
- A “Professional integration and communication techniques” course prepares students for writing a curriculum vitae (CV), writing a cover letter, carrying out a skills assessment, etc.
- The majority of courses taught in the Bachelor's degree rely on tools and software specialized in information processing. Course materials are accessible via the Digital Work Environment (ENT).
- In addition, the teaching team offers additional exercises and case studies as well as multiple choice questionnaires in Moodle so that students can practice regularly to pass the exams.
Targeted skills
- Ability to collect, diagnose and interpret, independently and critically, information relating to economics, management and economic and social reality.
- Understanding and putting into perspective the reasoning of economic analysis by mobilizing an analytical approach based on a mastery of mathematical and statistical bases and by calling in particular on the history of facts and economic theories.
- Use reference digital tools and IT security rules to acquire, process, produce and disseminate information as well as to collaborate internally and externally.
- Identify, select and critically analyze various resources in your field of specialty to document a subject and synthesize this data for use.
- Implement mathematical and computer tools for applications in the field of Human and Social Sciences (SHS), law, economics and management.
- Choose, based on objective criteria, data structures and build the algorithms best suited to a given problem.
- Easily use the bases of probabilistic reasoning; implement a statistical approach for data processing.
