Training summary

This course is aimed at students wishing to train as school teachers.

It allows them to follow a set of diversified courses enabling them to acquire and develop professional skills, to prepare for external civil service recruitment competitions and to learn about and through research in areas relating to 'Education.

Training aims

The MEEF PE Master has a dual objective: to prepare both for the recruitment competition and for the profession of School Teacher (PE). It is part of an integrative logic articulating teaching content and observation and supported practice courses.

Disciplinary, didactic and transversal learning are combined so that students can move back and forth between distanced reflection and professional practice, particularly in the context of introductory research activities and analysis of practices.

This initial professional training culminates in obtaining the national Master MEEF PE diploma.

Advantages of the training

Due to its logic of alternation between internships, theoretical lessons and analysis of professional practices, the Master MEEF PE is the training most suited to both preparation for the school teacher recruitment competition, and the construction of professional, concrete and lasting skills necessary for today's teaching profession.

The MEEF PE master's degree aims to acquire the professional skills necessary to exercise the profession of school teacher:
Know the profession of teacher and civil servant of the State
Master disciplinary knowledge and their didactics
Build, implement and facilitate teaching and learning situations
Evaluate student progress and acquisitions
Integrate the elements of digital culture necessary for the exercise of your profession
Know the context of practicing the profession
Acquire methodological tools
Analyze professional practices
Implement a research approach based on a professional question identified on one of the internship sites
Produce and support a professional dissertation.

Summary of lessons by course

The training is organized in three blocks:

Setting and context

  • The teacher, actor in the educational community and public service of the Énational education


Knowledge and learning

  • A versatile teacher, effective in the transmission of fundamental knowledge and the construction of learning. These skills are specific to school teaching: fundamental knowledge, didactics and pedagogy in the different disciplines, to prepare students for the versatility at the heart of the PE profession.


Reflective and professional practice

  • The teacher, reflective practitioner, actor of his/her professional development Internships in school: 2 x 3 consecutive weeks in Master 1, then 12 weeks alternating (every other week for 24 weeks)


Research dissertation with a professional aim
Modern Foreign Language (with a view to obtaining a B2 level)

These skills constitute a common core with other MEEF courses, allowing students to access a shared culture between teaching, education and training professionals, in the Reunion context.

Intership

In the 1st year of the Master's degree, students benefit from six weeks of observation and supported practice internship.

In the 2nd year, the student completes an internship lasting a total of twelve weeks, either with a work-study contract in responsibility, or with an observation and supported practice internship. These courses are compulsory.
