Master – Risks and environment

This Master in Risks and Environment aims to train people in professional situations so that they can:

• Support risk management policies at the local level through the development of technical and regulatory documents


• Conduct research and study programs in a public or private structure on the prevention, forecasting and mitigation of risks


• Analyze the environmental strategies of companies in the face of global change


• Implement international cooperation and humanitarian aid projects in the field of disaster risk management.

The training aims to provide interdisciplinary training in science around major environmental challenges.

This Master's degree offered on a work-study basis (professionalization contract, in particular) thus targets a public in a professional situation interested in environmental sciences and disaster management. The lessons are focused on the analysis of issues and management of risks linked to environmental issues in the broad sense.

A set of lessons aims to provide a shared culture on disaster management by integrating a transversal vision of the challenges of ecological and energy transition.

In order to allow the best possible adaptability to situations caused by natural and environmental risks, lessons will be based on case studies and a flipped classroom approach.

To guarantee the operational aspect of the training, certain modules may be led by the teams of the Indian Ocean Regional Intervention Platform (PIROI) and field visits will be organized with partners (Météo France, communities, etc.). .).

Finally, bridges with university research are put in place in order to promote research, development and Innovation.

• Master the tools and methods of research and expertise (data processing, field survey, quantitative and qualitative analysis, cartography, Geographic Information System (GIS), etc.)


• Acquire knowledge of risk management and environmental issues as well as risk prevention regulations

Master 2:

Engineering applied to GRC in a context of climate change integrated impact assessment legal and operational tools of GRC, civil engineering, environment and energy, tutored projects.
