The University of Reunion signs the first partnership at national level with the French athletics federation for its STAPS students

The first university in France to sign a partnership with the French Athletics Federation (FFA) this Friday March 03, STAPS license students (sciences and techniques of physical and sporting activities) now see their university education recognized at the federal level allowing them to consider better professional integration.

In December 2019, the STAPS Directors Conference (C3DSTAPS) and the French Athletics Federation (FFA), signed a framework Convention allowing connections between the FFA and the academic world.

This Friday March 3 on the Tampon campus, the President of the University of Reunion, Frédéric MIRANVILLE, the Vice-President of the French Athletics Federation (FFA) Christine VIRLOUVET and the President of the Regional Athletics League (LRA) Jean-Claude PRIANON signed the first version of this partnership.

Concretely, thanks to this partnership, the FFA now recognizes the courses taught at the university, according to very precise specifications in terms of content and evaluation. This recognition will allow young students, apprentice coaches-association managers-judges, to train but also to validate free federal diplomas which will demonstrate the skills acquired in their preferred field. The lessons will contribute, in the short term, to offering students quality training and will also allow them to enhance their portfolio of skills in an increasingly competitive job market while promoting their active engagement in sports associations in Reunion Island. .

Athletics having shown the way today, we can bet that the twelve other sports specialties taught within the STAPS department of the University of Reunion will engage in the same approach in order to promote the skills and professional integration of students.
