Universities, major players in continuing education

French influence strategy for Higher Education and Research in the Indian Ocean zone

The Indian Ocean zone constitutes a focal point of the globe, which connects the east on one side through China, and the west and the African continent on the other, bordering India to the north and the TAAF to the south (Lands French Southern and Antarctic Islands)

Faced with the awareness of the prospects for increasing skills in the Indian Ocean, initiatives have emerged with a view to taking leadership in the dissemination of a model of higher education and research, thus entering into head-on competition with the French and European model.

In the presence of:

  • Frédéric MIRANVILLE, President of the University of La Réunion
  • Charles GIUSTI, Prefect of TAAF
  • Guillaume GELLÉ, Vice-President France University
  • Sylvain BONHOMMEAU, Marine ecology researcher at the Indian Ocean delegation – IFREMER

Launch of a new website

The University of Reunion has been communicating through its websites for more than 20 years.
Over the years, web production processes have evolved greatly. From a single site entirely developed and powered by an in-house IT specialist, we gradually moved to a galaxy of sites, the number of which has continued to increase over time, reaching today around sixty of sites. (the sites of faculties, schools, institutes, laboratories, and certain services)

For the establishment's 40th anniversary, we wanted to develop the parent site so that it is in line with the ambitions and objectives that we plan for the future.
This new site, both cleaner, more inclusive, and more dynamic, was designed for and by its users. Through better ergonomics, modern design, better quality, more readable content, and above all, easier navigation of our training offer.
