Description of the WEU
Since the beginning of the 2000s, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Council of Europe, 2011), updated and supplemented by a Complementary Volume (Council of Europe, 2018), has become a reference text for teaching-learning of languages in Europe and well beyond.
This UEO intends to help students interested in questions related to the teaching-learning of languages to discover and take a critical look at the key elements of this text. The approach promoted by this reference framework, the notion of plurilingual and intercultural competence, the division into levels of competence, etc. will be discussed, etc. The WEU will also include a section devoted to critical views on this European text, inviting students to question this framework with the necessary perspective.
