Description of the WEU
This UEO aims to help students acquire handling skills in the biology laboratory.
Made up of mini 2-hour practicals, 10 Thursdays in the semester from 15:45 p.m. to 17:45 p.m. in the practical rooms of the Terre Sainte campus, it will cover various themes ranging from microbiology to immunology and biochemistry.
You will have the opportunity to carry out numerous techniques such as microscopic observation, in a Malassez cell and on a simple slide, spreading bacteria on agar, seeding in a liquid medium, an antibiogram, the Flag technique for fungi , simple dilutions set in cascade...
All this with specific objectives in different fields (medical, cosmetic, agri-food): Carry out an ECBU (cytobacteriology examination of urine), identify microorganisms, test the sensitivity of bacterial strains to antibiotics to implement a treatment, create a cream that can last over time, solve a murder...
