Description of the WEU
Biodiversity: the term, which appeared from the pens of a few researchers in the mid-eighties, has since enjoyed a brilliant media career. Currently, everyone is talking about biodiversity, particularly on our island known for its National Park and its UNESCO World Heritage listing. The concept seems simple but nonetheless remains poorly understood by the general public. It is true that the field of research it covers is vast. So, even if France is the first country in Europe in terms of biological diversity, did you know that the greatest number of threatened species is found in our country? How is biodiversity impacted and supported by human activity? What are the consequences of the disappearance of biodiversity? Why can his protection save humanity?
This EU will allow you to discover biodiversity, its importance in our daily lives, and the human strategies put in place to preserve it. You will also discover the major issues that weigh on biodiversity, and which concern us all: erosion of biodiversity, climate change, etc.
