Data retention – SISINE applications
The SISINE application allows the education management services of higher education establishments, when registering students in the establishments' management information systems, to find, based on civil status data (surnames, first names , sex, date and place of birth) and data relating to the baccalaureate (session, series), the national identifier number of a pupil/student (INE);
The processing therefore aims to limit the multiple generation of student identifiers in the information systems of higher education establishments in order to enable the production of reliable statistics by ministerial statistical services.

They are collected by the ministerial statistical service of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, located 1 rue Descartes in Paris (75005) through surveys of all higher education establishments. A complement is provided by data from databases of baccalaureate holders, produced by the ministerial statistical service of the Ministry of National Education.

The recipients of this data are the agents of the ministerial statistical service of the ministry responsible for higher education and research and within the framework of their responsibilities and within the limits of the need to know, the education management services of the establishments of higher education, when registering students in the establishments' management information systems.
